Samsung launches Series 9 notebook at Rs 1,02,990 in India

New Delhi, Sep 2 (): Samsung launched the second generation of Series 9 notebook in the Indian market on Friday priced at Rs.1,02,990.

The company says that this device, which has a 13-inch screen, is the world’s thinnest and most compact notebook chassis.

The laptop features Samsung’s maxscreen technology, which minimizes the bezel size while maximizing the screen size by an extra inch. It is 28 per cent smaller than its predecessor.

Samsung said that Series 9 is an outcome of 9,000 hours of design work and 24,000 hours of R&D by the company’s engineers.

Ranjit Yadav, country head for Samsung’s mobile and IT division said the Samsung Series 9 notebook represents the originality and the heritage of its predecessor while reducing unnecessary features. The refined sleek design of the new Series 9 represents the best of Samsung’s design with best functionality and top performance.

He further said currently the company has captured 9 per cent market share in consumer PC segment with the launch of the premium products. Further, the firm is optimistic that they would have a 12 per cent market share by the end of this year.

Samsung also launched two other models on Friday – Notebook Series 5 550P and Series 3 350. The model, Series 5 550P has 15-inches screen and weighs just 2.5 kg. It is priced at Rs 62,990. It comes with Intel’s 3rd generation quad core, a dedicated graphics card from Nvidia, Blu-Ray drive and up to 2TB hard disk. The Series 3 350 notebook is priced at Rs 48,490.
