London, Sep.2 (ANI): Former Tottenham Hotspurs manager Harry Reknapp believes that upcoming England football star Theo Walcott can be an ideal replacement for Robin van Persie at Arsenal.
Van Persie has joined Manchester United recently, leaving a huge gap in Arsenal’s striking capacity in the run-up to this year’s Premier League season.
In an article for the Sun, Redknapp says: “Theo Walcott needs to think long and hard during the next few weeks of his career.”
“Agreeing to stay put at Arsenal for the time being could turn out to be the best decision he will make for a long time,” he adds.
“I gave Theo his debut as a kid at Southampton. I have watched him develop at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger, but there is so much more to come from him. And, nowhere will he get a better chance to fulfill that potential than where he is right now,” Redknapp says.
Redknapp advised Walcott to sort out the little differences in his contract with Arsenal and then sign it.
“He can become a big, big fish at Arsenal. There are so many opportunities open to him now, especially with the departure of Robin van Persie,” he said.(ANI)
