Kitam (Sikkim), Sept 2 (ANI): A rare four-legged chicken has been found here on Sunday.
The bird with two normal front legs with a pair of limb-type suspended behind hatched five months ago, and has been living a normal life like other chickens.
Speaking to the reporters, Arjun Adhikari, a veterinary expert, said that there is no definite reason behind the deformity, and it could be operated.
“Polymelia is a genetic deformity. It happens during development of embryo and occurs in other animals also. It’s not surprising, but it happens very rarely,” Adhikari said. (ANI)
