Indian Idol 6 finale : Kareena and Ranbir to appear on same dias

Mumbai, Aug 23 (): Cousins Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor will be appearing on the stage of the finale of singing reality show “Indian Idol 6″ to promote their respective films.

The statement from the makers of the reality show said Kareena and Ranbir will be coming for the grand finale of ‘Indian Idol 6′ on August 31.

Kareena will be promoting her film ‘Heroine’, while Ranbir will be promoting his upcoming venture ‘Barfi’. Both the movies have different story lines. ‘Barfi’ is releasing on 14th September, while ‘Heroine’ will be releasing a week later, on 21st September.

‘Heroine’ depicts the story of a top-notch actress in Bollywood. It tells the story of her desires, aspirations, strength and weakness. Kareena had described her character by saying “bipolar and schizophrenic”. Madhur Bhandarkar has directed the movie.

Kareena was indeed happy about the role and had said that her appearance in the film would be a milestone in her career and she has aimed to make it her career’s best performance, with Madhur Bhandarkar’s help and her fans’ love and support.

The story of ‘Barfi’ is very different from Heroine. It is a story of a small town boy Murphy aka Barfi, played by Ranbir Kapoor. He is a hearing and speech impaired, who falls in love with Shruti, played by Ileana D’Cruz, a normal girl. Ileana is forced to marry a ‘normal’ guy due to peer pressure. Years later they cross roads, when Barfi is madly searching for Jhilmil, played by Prikanya Chopra. Jhilmil is a mentally challenged person, affected with autism. It makes Shruti realize if there is any difference between ‘normal’ and ‘abnormal’ as per the norms laid out by society.

Reports say Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor will be seen together in big screens as siblings. Zoya Akhtar has offered Ranbir and Kareena Kapoor roles where both of them are cousins just as in real life.
