IIJW 2012 : Bollywood stars add glamour to India International Jewellery Week

Mumbai, Aug 21 (): The 3rd India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) started with much sparkle and glamour in the entertainment capital, Mumbai at Hotel Grand Hyatt, on 19th August. It is five-day long show, which ends on August 23.

The five-day show is dedicated to showcase the best of Indian jewellery designers and manufacturers. It is being organised by the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).

The show began on Sunday with IIJW brand ambassador and actress Sonam Kapoor and Bollywood diva Hema Malini, with some of the best known jewellers in India joined by Bollywood celebrities.

Ace designer Vikram Phadnis displayed his collections with a blend of fashion, glamour and glitter along with jewellery collections by other leading designers, design houses along with some young designers.

On day two, Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan paraded down the ramp of the ongoing IIJW 2012. Sonal Chauhan was the showstopper for Dipti-Amisha’s collection and looked dazzling in a green velvet choli, asymmetric gathered skirt and churidar.

She was wearing the most amazing neck ornaments that contained within a Raani Haar with assorted necklaces, with bracelet, ring and the gold beaded long earrings.

Amrita Rao was the showstopper for Agni Jewellers. She looked ravishing in a red and gold, midriff showing in Jashn lehenga and sleeveless blouse.

Amrita Rao posted a funny tweet and wrote: “Walked IIJW for AGNI…was thinking back stage what if I sneeze in th middle of the ramp ”/ ?..#random thought.”

She then clarified and wrote: “ HAH.. NO I did not sneeze ..I rather turned on th center ramp aur palat ke media ko aadap ka eeshara kiya gesturing Eid Mubarak Bhai ; )”

Former beauty queen and Bollywood actress Dia Mirza glided down the ramp on day two. She wrote on Twitter: “Back stage! Before I went on for Golecha Jewelers at #IIJW 😉 sore throat and sickly but a commitment is a commitment.”
