Bangalore shocker: Boy-crazy father kills 20-day-old baby girl with poisoned milk

Bangalore, Aug 21 (): In a shocking incident, a 20-day old baby girl was put to death by her father who gave her poison added with milk as he was expecting a baby boy at Haadihosahalli village in Thyamgondlu of Nelamangala taluk of the Bengaluru Rural district.

The mother of the new-born baby lodged a complaint to the Thyamgondlu police, against her husband Nandish (25), who is working as a mechanic. The baby’s mother, Savitha (20) said that she was shocked to see her baby frothing in the mouth and hence rushed her to the Thyamagondalu Government Hospital.

The child was  then recommended to be shifted to the Tumkur Government Hospial, where the baby died within 10 minutes of admission. The baby’s mother Savitha immediately filed a complaint against her husband who with an intention to have a baby boy killed the girl child.

Police said that the husband Nandish consulted an astrologer a few days back who insisted to get rid of the girl child who was born under the inauspicious rahu kala and which would put him to death in the next two months. The husband also revealed that the astrologer told him to kill the child within two months if he wanted to be alive.

However, the father of the child earlier said that he only gave donkey’s milk as it was considered to be a healthy food for the new-born babies. He denied to have killed his daughter as he loved her very much.

Police believed that the husband who gave donkey’s milk to the girl child would have contained some harmful drugs that would have led to the baby’s death. The bottle in which the child drank the milk has been sent for forensic examination, said the police.

The postmortem report is yet to come after which the exact reason behind the baby’s death will come to light.

Savitha’s parents also informed the police that Nandish was constantly harassing his wife for a baby boy before her delivery and was completely disturbed after the birth of the girl child.
