Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar in legal trouble

Mumbai, Aug 18 (): Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar has got into legal trouble, following a legal notice sent by a senior lawyer, to actor and producer Ajay Devgn saying that the film portrays Sikhs in poor light.

Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Son Of Sardaar is scheduled to release for this Diwali. Apparently, the Chandigarh-based lawyer served a legal notice citing that the film is hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community in his forthcoming movie ‘Son of Sardar’. He has sent the notice after viewing the official trailer of the movie on YouTube.

Ajay Devgan is also the producer of this movie. The notice is sent by Advocate Navkiran Singh, who practises in Punjab and Haryana high court as a human rights lawyer and is also related to Sikh Anti-Defamation League (SADL).

He had stated about the contents of the official trailer, which is available to the public on YouTube. The trailer has comments like “Had there been no Sikhs, who would have invented abuses like ‘Teree Maan Dee-Teree Bhain Dee’.”

Another portion of the movie has a dialogue, “In case Sardars were not there, then on whom would the jokes be made? ” Such dialogues hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community at large.

Navkiran Singh says if the official trailer on YouTube comprises of such material, the film may have more such materials. The senior lawyer has requested the actor to delete such dialogues from the movie in public interest or else his office plans to take legal action on the criminal as well as civil side, against Devgn and all other persons involved in execution of this film.

The notice has given Ajay Devgn seven days to respond to the suit and make the necessary changes in the dialogues.
