Hyderabad, Aug 17 (): Ravi Teja’s movie Devudu Chesina Manushulu (DCM) released on August 15, directed by Puri Jagannath, has showed a good response at the Box Office on the opening day. As per the early estimates, the movie has collected Rs 5.5 crores on Wednesday.
Devudu Chesina Manushulu has hit 600 cinemas, which includes 563 screens in India, 29 screens in USA and 8 screens in UAE. It has registered 70% to 100% occupancy in the multiplexes as well as single screens.
The Telugu movie is facing tough competition from Salman Khan’s Bollywood movie Ek Tha Tiger and the previously released Allu Arjun’s Tollywood movie Julayi. In spite of its tough competiton, Devudu Chesina Manushulu, which is described as a rib trickling comedy, has done fair business at the collection centres.
DCM has surpassed the first day collection of Ravi Teja’s previous film Daruvu. Daruvu had collected approximately Rs 4.5 crores on the first day of its release.
Devudu Chesina Manushulu is a romantic action movie, which has got ‘U/A’ certificate from the Censors. In the film, Ravi Teja comes with a decent look and Ileana looks attractive with her shorts and Ray Bans, but she has not much to do.
Prakash Raj’s performance as the absent-minded Don is good. Jyothi Rana looks sufficiently vampish. Ali brings a few laughs as Bangkok taxi driver Goli. M.S.Narayana is seen in a very brief cameo. Fish Venkat is routine.
Devudu Chesina Manushulu has Raghu Kunche’s music and has already created buzz for it. A couple of songs in Devudu Chesina Manushulu have been shot in beautiful foreign locales.
The makers of DCM made massive promotion before the release and the movie has garnered mixed reviews from film critics. The promotional efforts, mixed reviews and Ravi Teja mania have drawn the audience towards the theatres.
