New Delhi, Aug 13 (): Hyundai Motor India Ltd, India’s leading passenger car exporter launched the fluidic 2012 Elantra at a starting price of Rs 12.51 lakh on Monday. The premium sedan Elantra is available in both petrol and diesel versions.
There shall be 7 variants of the car 4 diesel models and 3 petrol models. The neo Fluidic Elantra boasts of futuristic design with advanced High-end features luxurious interiors, and cutting-edge technology. The petrol edition has been given a 1797cc engine, and the diesel variant gets a 1,582 cc engine. Both the variants are offered with a choice of manual or automatic transmission.
The Petrol four cylinder engine of 1797cc is capable of churning out 149.5PS @6,500 rpm and an 181Nm of torque @ 4700 rpm. The diesel four cylinder engine of 1,582 cc is the same CRDi engine fitted into the new Verna that pumps out 128PS @ 4000 rpm at 265Nm of torque between 1,900-2,750 rpm.
The petrol variant is available at a price between Rs 12.51-14.74 lakh and the diesel option is available at Rs 12.91-15.85 lakh.
The neo Fluidic Elantra comes with a lot of features like Rear parking camera, Front ventilated seats, Advanced safety features like Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Solar glass and Silica tyres. The additional features are smart key with push button start, Dual zone FATC, 10-way adjustable power driver seat with lumbar support, Auto Cruise control, 16” Alloy wheels and Automatic Headlight control. The super-efficient 1.6 L Diesel engine offers a mileage of 22.7 KMPL, while the 1.8 L Petrol version clocks 16.3 Kmpl.
Earlier, the company had stopped sales of the earlier version of Elantra in India in August 2007. It has invested Rs 200 crore on the new Elantra and it’s manufacturing in India.
