Jism 2 posters pulled down in Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 2 (): The upcoming hot film Jism 2 that releases on August 3 and stars Canadian porn star Sunny Leone, Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda appears to have become too hot to handle for the BMC, the city’s municipal corporation.

Mumbai’s civic authorities considered the hot posters of the film “too hot to handle”. So, the Mayor of the city, Sunil Prabhu ordered to remove the posters from 75 BEST buses, 25 bus depots and all electricity poles in Mumbai.

The hot posters of Jism 2, which showed an almost nude lady lying covered with a wet piece of white translucent cloth was deemed objectionable by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator, Vidya Chavan. He complained to the mayor of Mumbai, Sunil Prabhu and commissioner of the BMC, the city’s municipal corporation that the posters were obscene.

Mayor Sunil Prabhu had asked for the hot posters to be removed after Ms Chavan complained. He said that they received a complaint from Chavan, who alleged that the posters were obscene and he has asked BEST general manager to remove such posters from BEST buses.

The posters are described as being vulgar, at the same time, the makers of the film claim it is in fact conservative and traditional, as the story of Jism 2 is about a journey of a porn star, and her longing for real love.

Filmmaker and writer Mahesh Bhatt, the producer of the film, said he had decided to remove the posters from all over Mumbai as “it was a battle not worth fighting”. He said he had decided to replace the old posters with new ones. His daughter Pooja Bhatt is the director of the movie.

‘Jism 2’ is a sequel to 2003 movie ‘Jism’ which had Bipasha Basu and John Abraham in the lead roles. The film is slated for August 3 release.
