Chennai, July 17 (): South Indian film stars Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan are expected to appear in the stage together for the audio launch of the Tamil film, Kumki. According to sources, Kamal has already confirmed his presence for the grand ceremony, while Rajini is expected to confirm soon.
Kumki is being produced by director Lingusamy on behalf of his production house Thirupathy Brothers.
The movie is directed by Prabhu Solomon, whose last film Mynaa was widely appreciated by critics and movie-goers. The movie marks the acting introduction of Vikram Prabhu, son of popular Tamil actor Prabhu and grandson of the late legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan.
D Imman has composed music for the movie. The audio launch is scheduled on July 26 at the Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai.
Sources have informed that both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have great respect for the legentary actor Sivaji. They share a great relationship with his family members. So, they would attend the music launch of Kumki and greet the young actor Vikram Prabhu.
In the past, Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan have starred in many films produced by Prabhu’s production house run by elder brother Ramkumar. So, Prabhu would evidently expect both the stars to grace the function and bless his son on the eve of the audio launch.
The story of Kumki revolves around Kumki elephants with Vikram Prabhu depicting a mahout. The newcomer Lakshmi Menon is debuting as heroine opposite Vikram in the film.
Kumki was earlier titled as Komban. The shootings took place across the forests of Karnataka and Kerala. Few scenes were shot at Jog falls at Karnataka and in the dense jungles in Kerala. The climax portion is shot in a different manner. The producers bought two-acres of land to shoot a scene where elephants destroy the land.
