Mumbai, July 11 (): Bollywood movie Cocktail, which releases on July 13, has created a great buzz amongst the youngsters. The film is a rich mix of love, friendship, loads of trendsetting fashion statements and its soundtracks like Tum hi ho bandhu and Daaru desi has already topped the chartbusters.
The movie is directed by Being Cyrus director Homi Adajania. The star cast of Cocktail include actors Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and newcomer Diana Penty in lead roles. Actors Boman Irani and Dimple Kapadia feature in supporting roles. Actor Randeep Hooda has done a cameo role.
The movie is co-produced by Dinesh Vijan of Illuminati films and Saif Ali Khan. The story of the movie centres around Gautam (Saif), Veronica (Deepika) and Meera (Diana).
Gautam has a persistent character, while Meera, a pretty girl who wears Indian clothes and displays Indian values, comes from Delhi to London for a fresh start, and Veronica is a party animal. All the three people live together; they all have a blast – until love happens. The perfect friendship turns unclear, and love becomes complex.
The director said Imran Khan was his first choice for the film but he was not sure if he wanted to do it at that point of time. Explaining about the star cast, he said Boman and Dimple are not like how they were in Being Cyrus. It is not a matter of familiarity but using talented actors who fit the roles.
Designer Anaita Shroff Adajania has already snatched eyeballs with her ultra-modern styling and the music composed by Pritam Chakraborty had bagged thumbs-up for its excellent soundtracks.
The makers had bought the rights of a famous Pakistani song “Jugni”, which has been changed slightly. Peculiar song Second hand jawaani, with Saif, Deepika and Diana dancing together, has gained popularity among music lovers.
