Mumbai, July 5 (): Pakistani-origin Bollywood actress Laila Khan who was missing since the past eleven months, is said to be murdered along with her family members a year ago in Maharashtra.
The main accused Parvez Iqbal Tak, who kidnapped the Pakistani-origin Bollywood actress declared to police that Laila Khan and her family members were put to death last year in Maharashtra, said DIG Doda-Ramban range, Gareeb Dass. Tak who also seemed to be the family friend of the actress told interrogators, that the family was killed at gun-point.
However, the officer denied giving further details by saying that it was difficult to reach a conclusion at this juncture as the bodies are still to be recovered and the investigation is going on.
Laila who was popularly known as Reshma Patel performed last with actor Rajesh Khanna in 2008 in Wafa.
Mumbai police on Wednesday had filed a case of abduction against two persons who were believed to be involved in the case. The case was registered based on a complaint by Laila’s father Nadir Patel.
Police said, according to the complaint lodged by Mr. Patel the actress along with her family members which included her mother, elder sister, twins Zara and Imran as well as a relative were abducted by the two accused in the month of February last year from her residence in Mumbai. The accused had revealed to the police that they killed the family with an intention to seize the money and properties which they owned.
Police suspect Laila to be involved with terrorist groups as she came under the scanner in the Delhi High Court blast probe after it came to light that a Mitsubishi Outlander (MH02-AY-7867), which was owned by Laila’s mother Saleena Patel, was used by the terrorists for the purpose of transporting explosives. The actress often collected list of places and maps, and handed over it to the Lashkar-e-Toiba, said the police.
