Billa 2: Trailer crosses 3.5 lakh views in 24 hours

Chennai, July 3 (): The second trailer of Ajith Kumar’s Billa 2 was launched on YouTube on Monday at around 7 pm and it has received tremendous patronage from Ajith’s fans. Just into 24 hours of its launch, the trailer has got 3,53,100 views, which is remarkable.

The makers of Billa 2 planned for a grand trailer launch of the film on Monday at a grand occasion in Anna Centenary Library. Unfortunately, the programme was cancelled. As the makers did not want Ajith’s fans to get disappointed, they launched the trailer online at 7 pm.

The cancellation of the launch programme disappointed the fan crowd of ultimate star Ajith. Many theories revolve around the reasons for the program’s cancellation.

Some sources say there was disagreement between distributor Aascar V Ravichandran and producer Sunil Kheterpal over the television rights, following which the launch function was cancelled.

The event was planned for three hours. Some sources say a dance troupe was roped in for the entertainment programme which was able to prepare only a 60-minute programme. So the event was cancelled by the producers.

Some say the celebrities who were invited for the occasion as special guests backed out in the last-minute. Ajith, the hero of the film, too was not able to turn up, which led to the cancellation of the programme.

Above all, the main reason for the cancellation was the venue, the auditorium of the Anna Centenary Library at Kotturpuram in Chennai, which was caught up in a legal tangle. Public interest litigation was filed in the Madras High Court against renting it for private functions. On Monday, the Court on Monday took up the petition for hearing and banned the government from renting it for weddings and receptions.

Expecting the verdict, the officials of the library pulled out the permission given to Billa 2 producers to hold the grand launch function there. Anyway, the online launch of Billa 2 trailer has become viral online.
