SIIMA: South Indian International Movie Awards in Dubai on June 21 and 22

Chennai, Jun 10 (): SIIMA, the South Indian International Movie Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on 21st and 22nd June in Dubai. This is said to be the first time that an event is exclusively organised for the South Indian movies.

SIIMA is planned to be organised every year. SIIMA’s aim is to spread the pride of South Indian movies to international viewers.

Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu film celebrities will take part in this grand Dubai festival. 2011 films of these 4 languages will be nominated and awards will be given under 19 categories.

SIIMA has given out the nominations list. Aadukalam and Mayakkam Enna are featuring in most of the categories. Both are competing under the best film and best director. Vetri Maaran and Selvaraghavan are fighting for best director title.

From www.siima.com votes can be registered for all categories. The special juries appointed will be choosing the winners from those voted by fans on internet. The jury comprises of experienced and unbiased panel members of all industries and they have selected 5 films for nominations from each film industry for the Best award.

Khushboo, Shyam Prasad Reddy, Malathi Rangarajan, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Poornima Bhagyaraj, TS Nagabharana, Siddique, K Manju are some of the jury members.

A glittering variety performance will be given by top stars from Kollywood, Sandolwood, Mollywood and Tollywood. On June 21, there will be premiers of the great expected films. Red carpet welcome will be given to stars who are featuring in the respective films.

Actor Madhavan, actresses Lakshmi Manchu and Parvathy Omanakuttan Nair will be the comperes. The star-lit evening also has performances by Shruti Hassan, Sameera Reddy, Amla Paul, Hansika Motwani and many more.

This event will be one among the largest get-together of celebrities at an international venue. SIIMA has also plans to educate twenty-five kids of the film technicians, spot guys, cameraman etc. belonging to the south Indian film industries.
