Mumbai, Jun 4 (): Rowdy Rathore of Akshay Kumar has started with the biggest opening weekend. Akshay’s last hit was Singh Is Kinng of 2008. The actor on Twitter thanked his fans saying they are the main reason at the back for the grand opening weekend.

The movie is made with a budget of Rs. 45 crore and the movie has collected Rs. 48.5 crore in its opening weekend. Taran Adarsh, film critic tweeted: RowdyRathore has raked Rs. 48.5 crore in just 3 days.

The first weekend collection of Rowdy Rathore is as follows:

June 1, Fri      – 15.1 cr

June 2, Sat     –  14.7 cr

June 3, Sun    – 18.5 cr

Total                 –  48.5 cr

The first tweet was quickly followed by another tweet which read: “Rowdy Rathore is rocking also on Monday… Expect a fat, big total… ‘Wowdy’ Rathore!”

He also stated that Rowdy Rathore has broken many previous records. It has opened bigger than Agneepath. When compared with Agneepath’s Friday to Sunday collection Rowdy Rathore’s collection is big. Agneepath had one advantage that it had a 4-day weekend from Thursday to Sunday. So, Agneepath’s weekend collection was bigger [Thurs 23 cr, Frid 12.75 cr, Satur 14.5 cr, Sunday 17.25 cr].

Rowdy Rathore is directed by Prabhu Deva. Another record it has created is that it is the third huge opener ever, after Bodyguard and Agneepath. Incidentally, all the three movies are remakes. Adrash also thinks that the Akshay Kumar movie will outdo the other films that were released so far this year.

RowdyRathore collected on Fri 15.10 cr nett, which is the biggest non-holiday Friday opener. Komal Nahta, trade analyst predicts the movie has all chances to cross 100 crore mark. The movie is a widest release which has so far opened on nearly 2,800 screens in India. Sonakshi Sinha plays the main female lead role in the film. Ronnie Screwvala and Sanjay Leela Bhansali has co-produced the film which has marked Akshay Kumar’s come back as action hero.
