May 9 (): Bay Area Tamil Community appeals to fellow Tamils to take part in Tamil Remembrance Day to mourn the death of 40,000+Tamil lives lost in May 2009:
Appeal message by Bay Area Tamil community (www.ilantamilar.org) as below:
It is three long years since our fellow Tamils have been wiped out in the genocidal war in Sri Lanka. In such a bleak scenario, we see some of the fellow Tamils constantly and fervently fighting for justice; some of us provide our best possible support when we can while a few of us offer our sincere sympathies from a distance.
In spite of the various stands we have all taken, we, the Tamils of the Bay Area community will get together to mark Tamil Remembrance Day which would be a day of mourning and remembrance for the innumerable number of Tamils killed in Mullivaikkal and in other places in earlier times.
Some important personalities from other places are going to be present in this gathering. This is going to be a wonderful opportunity for you to interact with them and share your thoughts and sentiments.
We humbly request all friends of our youth wing in San Francisco Bay Area to take part in the gathering. We spend a major portion of our lives earning money; we will spend coming Sunday for the sake of our fellow Tamils. We look forward to meeting you all.
Tamil Remembrance Day will be observed
At: All Saints Episcopal Church, 555, Waverley Street, Palo Alto, CA
On: Sunday, May 13
Between: 3.45 -6 pm.
