IPL 5 2012: Chennai Super Kings beat Deccan Chargers,Ravindra Jadeja dazzles

Visakhapatnam, Apr 8 (): All round dazzling performance by Ravindra Jadeja helped Chennai Super Kings to a 74-run victory over Deccan Chargers. Jadeja hit 48 runs in 29 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes and took 5 wickets for 16 runs to thrash Deccan Chargers.

Putting into bat by Deccan Chargers, Chennai Super Kings lost its first wicket Murali Vijay in the first over of Ankit Sharma. Another opener Faf du Plessis hit four sixes and made 39 runs from 25 balls before being caught by Daniel Christian of Sudhindra when the score was 63 in the ninth over.

Suresh Raina made 16, Badrinath 25 and Dhoni 7 off nine balls. Dwayne Bravo towered with 5 sixes for his 43 runs off just 18 balls to take the Chennai Super Kings total to 193 for 6. Deccan Chargers bowler Steyn and Christian took two wickets each.

Chasing the tough target of 194, Deccan Chargers made 32 runs for the first wicket before Harris was caught by Dhoni off  Bollinger in the fourth over. Deccan Chargers were 77 runs in the tenth over when Parthiv Patel was clean bowled by Jadeja. Then came the golden hand of Ravindra Jadeja that did the trick.

Jadeja in the 15th over of the match took two wickets of Gony and Teja. Deccan Chargers were all out in the 18th over when the score was 119. Bollinger and Dhawan took two wickets each. Cameron White top scored 23 runs and Shikhar Dhawan contributed 21 runs for Deccan Chargers.

Defending champion Chennai Super Kings were back on the winning track after defeating Deccan Chargers. Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni told that his side was “rusty” in its opener against Mumbai Indians where CSK lost to MI.
