Akon makes all Tamilians proud,likely to sing in Tamil

Chennai, Feb 1 ():  Musician A R Rahman, who won the Oscar award for his score in Slumdog Millionaire, made all tamilians proud when he uttered  ”Ella Pugazhum iraivanuke” (All glories go to the Almighty) at the awards ceremony. Actor Dhanush with his Kolaveri di was earlier invited to be part of the prestigious dinner party hosted by Dr. Singh for his Japanese counterpart, Yoshihiko Noda at his residence on December 30 last year. It seems English singer Akon has joined the party to make all tamilians proud.  Akon after rocking Hindi track Chammak Challo from Ra.One, this pop sensation is likely to sing in Tamil now!

The Senegalese-American singer Akon, who has a huge fan following in India, frenzied bollywood fans with the biggest hit of 2011. The song became a sensation overnight across nightclubs and drawing rooms. Akon has now been approached by director AR Murgadoss to sing a song in Tamil. Sources say that he had even paid the signing amount to the famed singer. Akon will sing for AR murgadoss’ next venture Tuppaki starring “Ilaya Thalapathi” Vijay.

A source said, “Shah Rukh Khan has been in talks with Murgadoss for his next South remake and that is how he got introduced to Akon. One song in RA.One has given him the kind of mileage he couldn’t have even imagined. So he is obviously looking to expand his base in India. The director thinks that Akon’s voice is very catchy and it’ll work for the kind of music Thupakki has.”

“The makers are trying to facilitate Akon’s visit to India once again for the film. The only problem is a date which is being worked out at the moment,” the source added.

Harris Jayraj, who is the film’s music composer, is very much excited that he is all set to rock the entire world and is ready with the lyrics that will perfectly match Akon’s voice.  “Everyone likes a song that’s a little different. Right now all I can say is that we are working hard on the music of the film,” AR murugadoss said.
