Simbu and Vetrimaran join hands in a new film

Chennai, Nov 30 (): Simbu joins hands with National Award winning filmmaker Vetrimaran for the next venture ‘Vada Chennai’, which is set to hit the floors soon.

‘Vada Chennai’ will be produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri under the Cloud Nine Movies banner. However ‘Vada Chennai’ seems to be only the working title of the movie and the project might see a name change later.

Confirming this, Simbu said, “I am happy to announce an untitled movie with National Award winner Vetrimaaran and Cloud Nine Movies. It’s a gangster movie and will be a first of its kind in my career. Shooting starts from March 2012″.

It is actually a dual hero subject and Vetrimaran wanted to keep this as a secret. Now that the film is set to hit the floors soon, he has confirmed that Rana Daggubatti, a popular actor in Telugu, will share the screen space with Simbu,” sources say.

Aadukalam director Vetrimaran says, “Andrea and Rana have been confirmed to be part of the film. Andrea will be doing a very important role in my film, and the character will bring out the best in her. There’s another female lead in the flick, and we are currently scouting for an actress to portray the character. In all probability, it will be a newcomer”.

Sources say this film will narrate the story of a good fisherman who unwittingly falls in the trap of a mafia gang. As usual, this Vetrimaran flick will be set in the by-lanes of Chennai with a realistic touch.

The technical team comprises of Velraj (camera), G.V. Prakash (music) and Kishore (editing). The film is likely to go on floors in March 2012.
