Chennai, July 10 (): Tamil Nadu Chief minister Dr Jayalalitha is to release the audio of the forthcoming Vijay film Velayutham. Two songs are yet to be shot. Genelia and Hansika are the heroines. According to trade sources during the last five years of DMK regime all the major audio release functions were cornered by Sun TV or Kalaignar TV for telecast rights. Now Jaya TV is all set to follow the same path. Vijay and his father had supported AIADMK in the elections.
The function generates revenue in terms of ads and also major promotions for the film. Sources say that Thalaivi has not made up her mind on attending the audio launch of Vijay film since she would not like to identify with any actor and also given the past history of the actor and his father Chandrasekhar showing solidarity with Karunanidhi when he was arrested at midnight. She might have her channel shoot her releasing the audio disc at her house, says source and telecast it at the venue.
For the wedding reception of actor Karthi (son of Sivakumar) the TV channels were told to stay off as Thalaivi was to come and it was a Jaya TV show but she turned up at the actor’s house instead.
With filmy weddings to functions now going the Jaya TV way and depriving the two DMK channels of much needed revenue the familiar scenario is happening. Unlike before where Karunanidhi used to attend any film show in a preview theatre the present CM has not done it. Jayalalitha had ridiculed Karunanidhi for spending more time in seeing movies and attending film functions and not attending office. The Kalaignar TV publicist has shifted his loyalties to Jaya TV from where he originally came from. In the whole war Kalaignar TV would be a casualty since Sun Tv has the eyeballs.
