Poison used to kill Sunanda Pushkar not found

New Delhi,Oct 13 (): Sunanda Pushkar’s death was by poisoning but the medical board of AIIMS says that it cannot determine the poison used and cites many reasons including the Delhi police for tampering with evidence.

Four pages of the 12 page report list several reasons for not being able to list out the poison though it clearly says that the deceased Sunanda Pushkar was neither ill nor suffering from any chronic illness. The Board says that the poison cannot not be identified if it goes out through vomiting, evaporation through lungs or it through urine and other means.

It also said there are vegetable poisons that cannot be identified in a toxicology examination. Potassium chloride, adrenaline and insulin are some chemicals that if given in overdoses can result in death and it cannot be traced, says the Board.

Labs can detect only ten types of poisons and these three types cannot be determined. It said that decomposing of tissues and tampering with viscera had hindered the Board from finding out the exact poison that killed Sunanda Pushkar.

As the viscera are washed by soap and bleach, the evidence can be tampered. The Board further pointed out that the forensic labs in India are not equipped to detect many poison chemicals including heroin and snake poison. The report says that the lack of facilities in labs hinders the forensic audit and this report will show that Sunanda Pushkar’s murder or death will never be solved.

A relative who claimed to be Sunanda Pushkar said that the dysfunctional CCTV cameras and a tense Shashi Tharoor in the AICC meet showed that there was a conspiracy behind it. However, son of Sunanda Pushkar who had given a clean chit to his foster dad said that it was time that the matter was ended, an impartial probe was conducted and truth was revealed.

Shashi Tharoor too agreed to go along with the probe. Subramanian Swamy had said there were marks which showed that poison was administered by force.
