Box office collection : Kick enters 200 crore club

Mumbai, Aug 5 (): Salman Khan’s Kick is making a wonderful business at the box office in the country as the film has extended its amazing run in its second weekend.

Kick has collected over 34 crore at the box office. By the end of the second weekend, the film has made a total collection of 198.11 crore.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh has been continuously posting comments on his Twitter page about the progress of the movie. He tweeted, “#Kick [Week 2] Fri 9.22 cr, Sat 10.62 cr, Sun 14.18 cr. Grand total: ₹ 198.11 cr nett. India biz. Nearing ₹ 200 cr mark. BLOCKBUSTER!”

Kick crossed 200 crore mark in the first half of Monday. Released on July 25, the film has made a ten-day business of over 198 crore net at Indian box office till Sunday night.

The Sajid Nadiadwala directed film has become the highest grosser for Salman Khan after beating box office collections of Ek Tha Tiger (Rs. 198.78 crore) on Monday. With this achievement, Kick has also become the fourth highest Bollywood grosser ever.

Kick being at the fifth place, trails behind the lifetime businesses of films such as 3 Idiots (202 crores), Chennai Express (227.13 crore), Krrish 3 (244.92 crore) and Dhoom 3 (284.27 crore). The collections in the coming days will prove if the Salman starrer could surpass these films. With four more days to go for the release of Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment, the film may break a few more records in the box office.

In the overseas market, Kick has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Salman’s own Dabangg 2 and Ranbir Kapoor’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and now stands as the sixth highest overseas grosser of all times.

Moreover, director Sajid Nadiadwala is now the only debutant filmmaker who has entered this super-exclusive club.
