Mumbai, May 31 (): The Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon starrer, Heropanti has done a fantastic box office collection at the domestic market in the first week. The movie has closed its first week with 35.91 crore at the box office, in spite of not having received good reviews.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Heropanti closes Week 1 with an impressive ₹ 35.91 cr nett. Emerges a SMASH HIT. Day-wise breakup in next tweet”.
On tweeting about the day-wise collection of Heropanti, he tweeted, “#Heropanti Fri 6.63 cr, Sat 6.42 cr, Sun 8.28 cr, Mon 4.26 cr, Tue 3.79 cr, Wed 3.41 cr, Thu 3.12 cr. Total: ₹ 35.91 cr nett. HIT!”
Heropanti featuring debutantes Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon has become one of the big money spinners of 2014. The masala entertainer was released on May 23 in 2,100 screens across India along with the much awaited comeback movie of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan.
On the opening day, Heropanti collected 6.63 cr and it has become the fifth highest opening day collection for movies released in 2014. The first four ranks in this category were taken by movies – Jai Ho, 2 States, Gunday and Ragini MMS 2.
Adarsh said Heropanti passed the vital ‘Monday test’. Collecting more than 21 crores in the opening weekend, the movie collected 4.26 cr on its first Monday.
Even though the collections on Monday fell to 40% than what it made on the opening day, the business on the following days was steady and the growth continued to be strong even on its fifth day (Tuesday, May 27).
Heropanti is a medium-budget movie that had costed around 26 crore for its making including the promotion. Trade experts say the movie has safely entered the HIT category. Also they say Heropanti is likely to cross Rs 50 crore mark in the second week at the domestic box office.
