Mumbai, Apr 18 (): Megastar Amitabh Bachchan starrer Bhoothnath Returns that received strong critical praise and tremendous positive reactions from audience has bagged a whooping Rs 30 crore in just 7 days of its release.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#BhoothnathReturns Fri 4.07 cr, Sat 5.85 cr, Sun 8.10 cr, Mon 4.40 cr, Tue 3.02 cr, Wed 2.25 cr, Thu 2.45 cr. Total: ₹ 30.14 cr nett”.
Abhay Chopra and Bhushan Kumar’s Bhoothnath Returns featuring Amitabh Bachchan with the young child actor Parth Bhalerao released on April 11, Friday amidst lot of hype and expectations. The movie has been acclaimed for the convincing and the strong performances of Amitabh Bachchan and the child actor Parth who plays the role of Akhrot.
The movie started on a slow note, but showed a decent jump in the following days. The opening day collection caused a little shock to the traders as it was as low as Rs 4.07 crores on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the collection gradually increased and the collections were Rs 5.85 crores and Rs 8.10 crores respectively.
The collections of Bhoothnath Returns again went down on Monday, but the figures were much better than its performance on Friday. Even though the collection gradually went down on the weekdays, the movie has collected Rs 30.14 crores nett at the domestic box office in the first week.
Overall, the horror comedy film directed by Nitesh Tiwari has made a wonderful collection at the domestic box office in its first week. Made at a budget of Rs 35 crores, the production cost of the movie has almost been recovered in just seven days. If the movie makes a good run in its second week, Bhoothnath Returns is expected to collect the balance production costs and a small percentage of profit.
The much-hyped movie of this year, 2 States is releasing today and the movie would affect the business of Bhoothnath Returns in its second week.
