Chennai, Mar 30 (): Vijay’s next movie with director A.R. Murugadoss has been titled as ‘Kaththi’. The news has been revealed on Twitter by the director A.R. Murugadoss himself.
Murugadoss, who is quite active on his social networking site Twitter had tweeted in his page, “Happy & delighted to announce the title of my project with Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay -”KATHTHI”.
The shooting for the movie started in the first week of February in Kolkata. But, the film was not titled at that time. Speculations were trending among the fans about the title. In 2012, Murugadoss delivered an impressively successful Vijay starrer ‘Thuppaki’. Earlier it was thought Vijay-ARM’s new project would be titled ‘Vaal’ (sword).
But, on Wednesday, the director himself had revealed his new project’s title as ‘Kaththi’ and also added that Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh would play the role of antagonist. Few days back, Murugadoss tweeted, “Yesssss…..Neil is playing villain in our new film…!”
Neil also responded on Twitter to congratulate the director on the title. He tweeted, “@ARMurugadoss SUPER TITLE !!! Congratulations Sir!!!”
Until the film was titled, it was called as ‘Vijay 57′ as the movie is Vijay’s 57th project in his film career. At the same time, the fans had liked the title of the movie.
The film’s shooting is going on at a fast pace. The production team says they are trying to finish off the shooting by the month of August, as the film is scheduled for Deepavali release.
Murugadoss and Vijay are pairing for the second time after delivering the success movie ‘Thuppakki’ of 2012, which has been remade in Hindi as ‘Holiday’.
Produced by Lyca Productions, ‘Kaththi’ stars Vijay and Samantha in lead roles and the music for the film is composed by young music composer Anirudh. The music director had already hinted that Vijay might lend his voice for a song in the film.
