JEE Main 2014 – exam pattern,important dates

New Delhi, Mar 15 (): JEE (MAIN) 2014 will be held all over the country in the following states such as  Andaman Nicobar, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Dadra Nagar, Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshwadeep, MP, Maharashtra,Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab,Rajasthan,Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

JEE Main 2014 Pattern

JEE Main 2014 consist of two papers such as Paper I and Paper II.

Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who are looking to seek admission into engineering courses. It will be conducted either as an Online Test or Offline Test.

Paper 2 is a Pen & Paper test only conducted for students looking to seek admission into Architecture/Planning courses.

Question paper will be of multiple choices.

Candidates will be given 3 hours duration.

Computer-based test will consist of questions from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with equal weightage to all subjects in which candidates will have to choose the correct answer for each question out of four given choices.

Each question will carry 4 marks.

For every wrong answer, one mark will be reduced for negative marking of one-fourth of the total marks.

For no answer, zero mark will be reduced.

JEE Main 2014 CBT Schedule 

Computer-based test- 9th, 11th, 12th and 19th April 2014

Session 1 – 9.30 am to 12.30 pm

Session 2 – 2 pm to 5 pm

Merit/rank list will be prepared based on 40%  of  class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% to JEE(Main)  for  admission to NITs, centrally-funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions

Candidates appearing for the exam should bring their own stationery like geometry box, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons and a  clip board.
