Mumbai, Mar 12 (): A defamatory promotion made by unidentified persons against Bollywood star Aamir Khan and his TV show Satyamev Jayate on social networking site Facebook has made the actor register a complaint against the same with the Mumbai Police.
False statements about Aamir and his TV show have been posted and published on the social networking site Facebook, after three days he brought to light the issues in the Indian society.
Aamir had met Sadanand Date, Joint Police Commissioner of Crime at the headquarters of Mumbai Police and had informed him about such wicked messages apparently being spread in social networking sites in an effort to damage the star’s image and the status of his popular TV show.
The second season of the popular show started on March 2nd and Aamir had posted his statement on his Facebook account on March 7. He wrote malicious and false messages were circulating in several media including Twitter, Whatsapp, Facebook and few other social networks claiming that the donations sought in the second season of his television show, by the name of Humanity Trust were blamed to be used for Masjid Construction Assistance and for assisting Islamic youngsters. Aamir assured the fact as entirely a false statement.
Writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar said it is “shame” certain people have blamed Aamir Khan of collecting donations through his TV show. He said instead of appreciating the well-doing of Aamir, who is the great grandson (great grandnephew) of Maulana Azad for bringing into light the real issues trending in the society, some are abusing him.
Aamir started the first season of Satyamev Jayate last year May and the show has been dealing with delicate social issues such as female foeticide, child abuse and domestic violence. He received great appreciation from all corners of the country when it started airing on Star Plus. This prompted him to start the second season.
