Chennai,Mar 10 (): Kochadaiiyaan starring Superstar Rajinikanth has put Kollywood on fire and the film’s audio release was held in a grand manner on March 9 and was a star-studded event.
What makes Kochadaiiyaan so special?
“Kochadaiiyaan” marks the directorial debut of Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin, daughter of Superstar Rajinikanth. Touted to be India’s first motion capture photo-realistic 3D animated film, the historical drama is made at a budget of whopping Rs.125 crores.

Kochadaiiyaan marks the debut of lead heroine Deepika Padukone in the southern film industry. Deepika had thanked Soundarya for the experience she had in working for the film.
With many credits in its kitty, Rajinijkanth’s Kochadaiiyaan audio release was held at Sathyam Cinemas in the city yesterday where both Tamil and Telugu audio tracks were released.
Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff added to the star value at the event along with top directors K. Balachander, S.P. Muthuraman, K.S. Ravikumar, Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin and Shankar. ‘Mozart of Chennai’ and the film’s music composer AR Rahman was also present along with the producers Murali Manohar and AVM Saravanan.
The producers have entered into a deal with Karbonn Mobiles through which a million special edition handsets will be rolled out with a pre-loaded app for the movie. All the handsets will come with the signature of Rajinikanth. This is a first-ever venture for a mobile handset maker to launch products with a reality app.
Eros has set up 500 interactive hoardings across India majorly in southern states of India at 3,650 Bharat Petroleum outlets in Karnataka, Kerala,Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, People will have to stand in front of the hoarding and send SMS to activate the hoarding.
In another first in Indian film industry, Kochadaiiyaan will be released in six languages – Tamil, Punjabi, Hindi, Marathi, Bhojpuri and Telugu.
Contrary to what people think in India, animation is not cartoon, clarified Soundarya but a process where the actor actually performs which is then captured on a camera and then translated into a 3D version.
Team Kochadaiiyaan is said to have wrapped up the film in under two years, which itself is a great feat in Tamil film industry, that has made use of a first-ever technology in the industry.
Kochadaiiyaan has become a top trending topic on Twitter and Facebook in India, making it a first for a Tamil film, according to fresh reports.
Kochadaiyaan boasts of a star cast of Sarath Kumar, Aadhi, Shobana, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Jackie Shroff and Nasser along with Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone. Academy award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty is also part of the technical crew.
Jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment, Kochadaiiyaan is scheduled to hit cinema screens on April 11.
Jaya TV is said to have acquired the television rights of Rajinikanth’s magnum opus in July 2012 for an undisclosed amount.
