Mumbai, Feb 26 (): Amitabh Bachchan launched the trailer of his upcoming horror comedy-drama ‘Bhootnath Returns’ in Mumbai on Tuesday.
‘Bhootnath Returns’ is a sequel to 2008 horror-comedy ‘Bhootnath’, which is being produced by T-Series & BR Films and directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
Bhootnath Returns stars Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani and Marathi actress Usha Jadhav in vital roles. Bachchan plays the role of a friendly ghost in the movie. Bhoothnath Returns also features actors Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in cameo appearances and a song by Yo Yo Honey Singh.
Ranbir will appear in the film at an important point and his character is somewhat crucial to the flow of the film. Shah Rukh Khan, who played the role of Aditya Sharma’s child Banku’s father in Bhootnath, will be seen re-presenting his role in the sequel. He too has a cameo in the film and his character will be a continuation to the one that he played in Bhootnath (2008).
The first trailer shows that the film will have a lot of fun for kids as well as family audiences. The trailer begins with Amitabh being teased by his fellow ghosts for not being able to frighten kids.
An ashamed Amitabh pleads with the officer to do something to transfer himself. In reply, the officer advises Amitabh to go back to earth and scare some kids to clear out his name. Once back on earth, Amitabh meets another young boy who can not only see him, but is also far from scared.
The trailer has some superbly funny moments like when Amitabh tries to scare away the kid by saying “Main bhoot hoon”, the kid replies, “Aur mai chudail hoon. Shaadi banayein kya?” Due to unrevealed situations, Amitabh decides to fight the elections against a local goon-turned-politician played by Boman Irani.
