AAP to field Kejriwal against Modi

New Delhi, Feb 16 (): AAP is gearing up to field Kejriwal against Modi in LS poll, if he contests from outside Gujarat. This would endear AAP to the minorities all over the country and even those who are looking to vote for Congress will shift.

Kejriwal has not given any direct reply but BJP president Rajnath said that the constituency has not been decided. Sheila Dixshit has said she is not contesting any more polls.

This strategy will make AAP a serious contender to LS polls on a national level and will show it stands against Hindu communalists. Modi is said to be contesting from UP to galvanize the party cadres. The state has 80 LS seats, highest in India.

UP’s ruling party SP has a base with Muslims. As SP has told that neither Congress nor any regional players but BJP is the rival, AAP’s big fight against Modi will change this equation.

The AAP by ordering a SIT probe into the Sikh riots endeared itself to the community in Delhi. After quitting from office, donations within India has started rising and an average of Rs 20 lakhs per day has been recorded. As AAP would stop short of naming Kejriwal as PM candidate, it would project Manoj Sisodia as Delhi CM candidate and Yogendra Yadav as Haryana CM potential.

The AAP election committee is meeting to finalize the first list. Jaitley’s blog on Kejriwal’s quitting the ministry created an occasion to link BJP with Reliance.

On the sidelines, Anna has decided to go on a nationwide tour to get his 17 point economic charter accepted by State CMs. Mamata has accepted the charter and the support meet will kick start in Delhi meet. The Centre deciding to keep Delhi Assembly in suspended animation, the party now need not focus on the State and that frees Kejriwal for campaign. AAP first list has 20 candidates and has named those fighting against Rahul, Gadkari , Suresh Kalmadi and Kapil Sibal.
