Mumbai, Dec 26 (TruthDive): Aamir Khan’s ”Dhoom 3” is rocking at the domestic as well as the overseas circuits and the collections of the film are shattering most of the box office records. Worldwide, the film has minted 233 crores in five days.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Here’s *Fri to Tue* total of #Dhoom3: India ₹ 149.46 cr + Overseas ₹ 84.11 cr [$ 13.11 mn +]. Worldwide total: ₹ 233.57 cr. BLOCKBUSTER!”

Dhoom 3 starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra smashed the opening day collection as well as opening weekend collection records set by Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Chennai Express’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’.

The third edition of the Dhoom franchise, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, is expected to continue its strong performance due to the New Year holidays. Trade experts say Dhoom 3 is predicted to cross the Rs.300 crore mark at the box office. And its success will be a big boost for the multiplex operators.

In just five days, the film has already become the highest Bollywood grosser in some overseas markets like New Zealand and Australia.

Taran tweeted, “#Dhoom3 – New Zealand [limited screens due to Christmas holiday on Wed]: NZ$ 21,295. Total: NZ$ 331,578 [₹ 1.68 cr]. HIGHEST GROSSER EVER.”

“#Dhoom3 – Australia [limited screens due to Christmas holiday on Wed]: A$ 115,417. Total: A$ 1,152,769 [₹ 6.35 cr]. HIGHEST GROSSER EVER.”

The film has also broken box office records in Pakistan. In the country’s largest city of Karachi, Dhoom 3 was released on 56 screens and the box office receipts on its opening day was around Rs 20 million shattering Pakistani film ‘Waar’s record of Rs 11.4 million on its opening day.

Craze for Dhoom 3 is so high in Karachi that the multiplexes are running the film on all their screens and having five shows a day on one screen – something unheard of in the Pakistani film industry.
