New Delhi, Nov29 (): Tehelka’s woman journalist wearing a pink frock is seen adjusting her dress on getting out of the lift with her boss Tejpal in the CCTV footage. The five-star hotel CCTV cameras kept outside in the corridor shows Tejpal pulling the woman into the lift.
Meanwhile, Goa Police today morning reached the residence of Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal in Delhi. However, Tejpal was not at his home. Police sources questioned Tejpal’s family members about his whereabouts.
Yesterday, Tejpal in a fax to Goa Police said he would be available by noon today for questioning. Reports say that Tejpal is in Mumbai.
Shoma stepped aside as Tehelka’s Managing editor. Tehelka’s founder-editor Tarun Tejpal too has quit, after being accused of sexually assaulting his junior woman colleague. The CCTV footage sourced by Goa Police from the star hotel has confirmed the events narrated to the police.
The CCTV footage of the corridor outside the left shows the woman coming out adjusting her clothes and running down the steps as Tejpal follows her, the officer added.
Despite managing editor Shoma Chaudhury’s resignation and the imminent arrest of Tehelka’s former editor Tarun Tejpal, Tehelka Hindi’s executive editor Sanjay Dubey is in an effort to convince investors by giving a viable business plan.
Dubey was responsible in the past five years of its existence, to build it up. TMC MP K D Singh who holds 35% in the company that owns the magazine was willing to take a look at Dubey’s plan.
As a standalone basis, Tehelka Hindi is almost profitable; so Singh is interested but not with the English edition of the magazine. Tehelka is staffed with over 40 people, including journalists, who work in two offices. Managing editor and six editors have quit apart from the editor-in-chief. The staffers are not sure about the salaries next month.
