Mumbai, Nov 16 (): Hrithik Roshan’s superhero flick “Krrish 3″ has successfully completed its second week with Rs 226 crore earnings. This Diwali release now needs just one crore to break “Chennai Express” lifetime business of Rs 227.13 crore.

Moving steadily to beat the lifetime run of Chennai Express, the film’s occupancy was affected by Sachin Tendulkar’s last Test match at Wankhede. The celebrity cricketer is grabbing more attention than films.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Krrish3 [Wk 2] Fri 9.16 cr, Sat 14.23 cr, Sun 16.35 cr, Mon 5.47 cr, Tue 5.04 cr, Wed 4.46 cr, Thu 4.77 cr. Total: 226 cr. All versions”.

Collection of the film on Thursday saw a slight increase due to Children’s Day holiday across the country. The collection is expected to dip on Friday due to the release of “Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela” and “Rajjo”.

The second week total of “Krrish 3″ is higher than “Chennai Express” two weeks’ total. Maintaining a steady pace during the second week, Krrish 3 has managed to mint in a whopping Rs 59.48 crore. “Chennai Express” had minted 43.85 crore in its second week.

Crossing Rs 50 crore mark at the domestic market in their first week is itself a toughest job, but Krrish 3 has done it in its second week and it is a record in the Hindi Cinema.

By collecting Rs 59.48 crores nett at the domestic box office in the second week, Krrish 3 has beaten the record of Chennai Express (Rs 43.85 crores) and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (Rs 47.1 crores), which were the first and second highest grosser movies of 2013.

Hrithik Roshan starrer is now all set to smash the lifetime collection record of Chennai Express, which has been the all time highest grosser with its collection – Rs 227.13 crores net. Krrish 3 is now short of Rs 1.13 crore to reach that mark. Krrish 3 is expected to break Chennai Express record and become the all time highest grosser on its third Friday.
