New Delhi, Oct 30 (): Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is set to conduct the Stenographers Written (Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’) Examination, 2013, scheduled to be held on 29th December.
The SSC conducts the Stenographer (Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’) Examination once in every year to recruit candidates for various posts.
For the benefit of candidates, the SSC has provided examination syllabus to help candidates to prepare for the written test.

SSC Stenographer Syllabus 2013
General Intelligence & Reasoning
* Will contain both verbal and non-verbal type questions
* Will contain questions on analogies, similarities and differences, problem solving, analysis, judgement, space visualization, decision-making, visual memory, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, discriminating observation, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc.
* Questions to check and scrutinize Candidate’s ability regarding his/her theoretical ideas, symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions will also be asked.
Questions regarding ability of the candidate’s general awareness on environment around him and its application to society will be included.
Candidate’s knowledge in current affairs and experience in their scientific aspects will also be scrutinized.
Questions related to India and its neighbouring countries particularly Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc will be included.
Note: To answer the above question candidates need to go through the news papers, news channels and books.
English Language & Comprehension: Candidates skill in English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence formation, synonyms, antonyms and correct usage, as well as writing ability will also be tested.
