IIT JAM 2014 Examination schedule & important notification

New Delhi, Oct 21 (): Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will likely conduct the Common Proficiency Test on 9th November 2014 in two sessions for which a large number of students will be appearing for this examination.

The Joint Admission Test (JAM) for M.Sc is being conducted by the IIT to provide admissions to various M.Sc Joint programs like M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other post-bachelor degree programmes at the IITs  and for integrated Ph.D programmes at the IISc-Bangalore on the basis of the candidate’s performance in a single test and to merge Science as a job option for brilliant and outstanding students all over the country.

Meanwhile, it is also believed that JAM which is being organized by IIT Kanpur is expected to become a yardstick for regulating undergraduate level science education in the country.  The Ph.D. Programmes at IISc was started in the early 90s in order to facilitate students to directly join for a Ph.D. degree after their B.Sc. Degree.

IIT JAM Examination Schedule 2014

The JAM 2014 exam which will be held in two sessions on 9th February, 2014 will have different test papers as follows:

Session –I

Paper Codes – BT/CY/GG/MS

Time-9:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon

Date of examination- 9th February, 2014

Session –II

Paper Codes- BL/MA/PH

Time: 2 PM- 5 PM

Date of examination -9th February, 2014

Declaration  of results   – 16th April, 2014

Important notification

JAM 2014 will have seven Test Papers altogether out of which candidates may appear in either one or two Test Paper(s), based on the limitations imposed by the Test Schedule and on payment of the required additional fee for the second Test Paper, as applicable.

Candidates appearing in two tests have to ensure that these Test Papers are not conducted in the same session.
