Mumbai, Oct 1 (): Adult comedy Grand Masti that is racing towards the 100 crore club at the domestic box office, has finally managed to cross the much expected 100 crore mark worldwide.
Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#GrandMasti touches Rs 100 cr globally”.
By collecting over 6 crores in its third weekend, the film’s total domestic collections now stands in the range of 95.25 crores. The maximum collection comes from the Indian market, while in the other territories, the collections are lower in comparison.
Let’s have a look at the worldwide collection chart:
|Territory||Amount (INR in crores)||Collections update|
|India||95.25||As of 29-Sep-2013|
|Australia||0.63||As of 29-Sep-2013|
|United Kingdom||1.89||As of 29-Sep-2013|

Scriptwriter of the film Milap Zaveri wrote, “And #GrandMasti does HUNDRED Crores worldwide! Woohoo!!! My 1st 100cr film! Thank u audience for helping us create HISTORY! Love you’ll! :)”
So far, for two weeks, Grand Masti had enjoyed its run, but the coming week will be crucial for the film due to the release of Ranbir Kapoor’s “Besharam”.
Besharam releasing on October 2, will be released in more than 3600 screens across the country, making it one of the biggest releases in the history of Indian cinema. Grand Masti will be left with only 200-300 screens from 3rd October onwards.
Directed by Indra Kumar, the adult comedy opened with a astounding net Rs 12.51 crore on the opening day of its release. This made ‘Grand Masti’ the film with the 4th highest opening of the year after blockbusters Chennai Express, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Race 2, a remarkable achievement for an ‘A’ rated comedy.
But, now Grand Masti is left with only Rs. 4.75 crore away from 100 crore club at the domestic box office. If the film collects this amount in the coming days Grand Masti will become the fifth film released in 2013 to gross 100 crore.
The first four films which had entered into the 100 crore club this year are: “Race 2″, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” and “Chennai Express”.
