Sep 24 (): BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi now has another mode to woo voters across the country for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Popularly referred to as NaMo on social networking websites, Modi now gets to woo voters through smartphones.
Two Narendra Modi themed smartphones in India, named SmartNamo Saffron One and SmartNamo Saffron Two have been rolled out by a Gujarat-based group.
The two smartphones can now be pre-ordered at e-commerce website Snapdeal for an initial booking price of Rs 999. Both the phones will be made available for delivery in the second week of October, according to Snapdeal.
While the 16 GB version of SmartNamo Saffron One is priced at Rs 18,000, the 32 GB version costs Rs 23,000. SmartNamo Saffron Two comes at a price of Rs 24,000. Both the devices are powered by Android 4.2 and have 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 3,150mAh battery and dual-sim functionality.
The Saffron Two is termed to be one of the biggest smartphones in the world with a 6.5-inch screen. Both the phones will come preloaded with wallpapers, videos as well as apps connected to Modi.
NaMo is an acronym for Narendra Modi as well as Next-generation Android Mobile Odyssey, according to the official website of the smartphone maker. The Smart Namo group includes Gujarati businessmen who have mobile businesses in China.
Calling Narendra Modi the ‘Ironman of Modern India’ , the official website of Smart Namo claims that their product is a means of showing their dedication for the great national leader.
Claiming to be an independent body of fans of Narendra Modi, the makers say they got such an idea from China where gadgets like MP3 players and smartphones are launched in the names of their leaders.
The official website smartnamo.com greets one with Narendra Modi wallpaper featured on one of the phones in their colourful Home Page,with a general splashing of saffron colour.
