New Delhi, Sep 14 (): German car maker Volkswagen India today launched a new variant Polo GT TDI in the Indian market for Rs 8.08 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
Volkswagen variant Polo GT TDI is the most powerful diesel hatchback in the B segment that is powered by a 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine. The 1.6 litre diesel engine of 4-cylinder turbocharged engine produces 105 PS of power and 250Nm of torque. It is the same engine which powers the VW Vento and Skoda Rapid sedans and is mated with 5-speed manual gearbox.
Arvind Saxena, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Managing Director said, “We are committed to bringing in the latest and the most efficient vehicle technologies to the Indian market.” He added, “The new Polo GT TDI has been created to cater to the requirements of discerning customers, who want the best possible mix of strong power delivery, outstanding driving dynamics and class-leading fuel efficiency.”
The car offers an ARAI-certified economy rating of 19.78 kmpl. GT badges are spotted on the front grille and it is featured with 15-inch Estrada alloy wheels. The other features are leather-wrapped steering mounted audio and phone controls, automatic climate control, Chrome accents, a double din Bluetooth, SD card and USB enabled 2 DIN stereo player and rear parking sensors. It also features aluminium pedals, height adjustable driver’s seat, anti-pinch power windows, lane change indicator, ABS, dual airbags, rear defogger and front and rear fog lamps.
The vehicle is available in three exterior colour options – Flash Red, Candy White and Deep Black Pearl.
Last month, Volkswagen launches Cross Polo with a 1.2-litre TDI engine for Rs. 7.75 lakhs. The 1.2-litre TDI engine delivers a maximum power output of 75 [email protected] 4200 rpm and a maximum torque of 180 Nm @ 2000 rpm.
