Chennai, Aug 28 (): The highly anticipated South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) of 2013 is scheduled to be held in Dubai on September 12 and 13 at the Sharjah Expo Centre, UAE.
Lovely Shriya Saran along with Arya and Rana Daggubati announced the news at a press conference for the 2nd edition of SIIMA in Dubai. Organiser Anjanstar Events & HR Plus Fze hosted the press conference on 6th August 2013 at Al Ghurair Rayhaan by Rotana, Deira, Dubai at 5.30 PM. The press conference was also attended by other SIIMA representatives and Dinesh K. Uggina, MD of Anjanstar Events.
The awards ceremony will be spread over two days. ‘Generation Next Awards Night’ on day 1, September 12 will be hosted by former Miss India World and actress Parvathy Omanakuttan and comedian Ash Chandler.
On day 2, September 13, the ‘Popular Awards’ will be given away. Three stars Arya, Shriya Saran, Rana Daggubati along with Bollywood star Sonu Sood will host the main awards night.
At the press meet in Dubai, Shriya said that she was very excited to be a part of SIIMA. She had started her career with South Indian films so, the southern film industry was very close to her heart,she said.
The actress is also very thrilled about co-hosting this prestigious awards function as she will be sharing the awards function platform with three handsome co-anchors.
SIIMA has taken on the overwhelming task of short listing films of all South Indian languages – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam – that have surpassed the rest of the films and won the appreciation of the audience last year.
More than 450 stars and cine celebrities have been booked to attend the event, which will honour talents from films released in 2012 spread across the four main southern languages. The final nominees will be chosen by a panel of experts while winners will be decided by public vote.
