Mumbai, Aug 28 (TruthDive): After seeing the record-breaking performance of Rohit Shetty directed Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chennai Express, now all eyes are set on big names like Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan to surpass the new success parameter set by Chennai Express.
Aamir Khan’s “3 Idiots” set the record of becoming the biggest grosser of Hindi cinema by collecting Rs 202.47 crores in the domestic market in 2009. It has taken three and a half years for a Hindi film – “Chennai Express” – to smash the record and top the list of biggest grossers.
Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal starrer Satyagraha is releasing on August 30 in India and on August 29 in the UAE. Then, the last quarter of this year will see the release of Ranbir Kapoor’s Besharam, Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 and Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 — all the films are much-awaited and much-talked about projects.
Satyagraha that releases on August 30 is a political thriller film directed by Prakash Jha starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai, Amrita Rao and Vipin Sharma in the lead roles.
Made at a budget of 60 crore, Besharam is a comedy film directed by Abhinav Kashyap. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Pallavi Sharda and is scheduled to release on 2 October 2013.
Following the success of “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” (Rs 188 crore lifetime collection), Ranbir’s “Besharam” is one of the most-awaited films of 2013.
Made at a budget of Rs 90 crore, “Krrish 3” is directed by Rakesh Roshan and extensive special effects are used in the film. “Krrish 3” will release during Diwali festival season in the first week of November.
Expectations on “Krrish 3” are more as the first two films in the franchise “Koi Mil Gaya” and “Krrish” have done extraordinary business.
The “Dhoom” franchise began in 2004 with John Abraham playing the antagonist in the first part. In “Dhoom 2” Hrithik donned the role, while Aamir will appear as the antagonist with Katrina Kaif in “Dhoom 3”.
Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will reprise their roles in the third part of the franchise.
Apart from these films, there are also other significant projects releasing this year including “Boss”, “Ram Leela”, “Bullett Raja”, “Rambo Rajkumar” and “Gori Tere Pyar Mein”. So, it is now the time to wait and watch which movie will shatter the records created by Chennai Express.
