Mumbai, Aug 21 (): World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei defeated Liew Daren 21 – 12 21 – 16, while Marc Zweibler beat Sai Praneeth 21 – 18 10-21 11-9 in men’s singles to give Mumbai Masters the lead in their tie against Krrish Delhi Smashers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel arena at the National Sports Club of India here on Tuesday.
Lee Chong Wei of Mumbai Masters started perfectly against the Delhi Smashers in the Indian Badminton League and gave much to the enjoyment to the large audience gathered at the stadium.

Mumbai Masters showed complete power in the match. Except in the men’s doubles, they won in all categories such as men’s singles, women’s singles, mixed doubles and another men’s singles.
Delhi won only in the men’s doubles when the duo of Koo Kein Keat and Tan Boon Hoeng got the better of B. Sumeet Reddy and Manu Atri 14- 21 21-15 11-7.
In the men’s singles, Lee Chong Wei did not disappoint the Mumbaikars. The Malaysian World No. 1 showed them why he is considered a legend by coming up with a high-level performance.
The Malaysian won the opening men’s singles against fellow player Daren Liew 21-12, 21-16 in just 37 minutes. He later joined Denmark’s Tine Baun in the mixed doubles and won the fifth and final match of the tie 21-18, 15-21, 11-5 as the Masters defeated Smashers by 4-1.
Mumbai Masters sit at the top of the league table with 11 points.
