IBPS CWE Clerk III Exam Syllabus 2013

New Delhi, Aug 20 (TruthDive): The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be conducting the Common Written Examination (CWE Clerk-III) as a requirement for selection of candidates for Clerical cadre posts in the Public Sector Banks in November/ December 2013.


Candidates who apply online should be in the age group between 18 to 28 years with 60% marks in 10th, 50% marks in 10+2 and qualified in any bachelor’s degree.

IBPS CWE Clerk III Exam Syllabus 2013

Subjects- English, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge

The paper will have objective type questions for a total of 200 marks  under 5 different sections such as English Language, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.

Note -Each paper will carry 40 marks. Candidates who write wrong answers will have  a negative marking of 0.25 marks.

First Section -Test of Reasoning

  • Questions in this segment will be based on Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning
  • Test of Reasoning is the method of forming decisions, conclusions from premises or facts.
  • Verbal reasoning defines decision-making, classification, word-formation, blood relation series, symbol & notation, decoding & coding, statement & conclusion, sitting arrangement problem solving..
  • Non-Verbal reasoning describes about series completion, analyzing any missing figure and classification.

Second Section: English Language

This section is considered as most significant because it not only wider but also very useful throughout the world, therefore the managing committee would wish to select the candidates who are strong and capable in English language.

Questions expected from this section will be on vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, sentence formation, word-formation, as well as topic comprehension such as passage completion, idea detection etc. topic grammar will include active passive voice, indirect direct speech and general usage of idioms and phrases.

Third Section- Numerical Ability, Quantitative Aptitude

Five multiple-choice answers will be under this section.

Question will be based on Arithmetic and Data Interpretation

Fourth Section – General Awareness

Here general Awareness questions will be based on current affairs on recent activity of India and neighbouring countries regarding politics, history, banking, culture, sports, geography, economy, techniques and finance.

Fifth Section – Computer Knowledge, Computer Awareness

Question will be based on hardware and software

Topics covered will be on MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Windows, internet and how to operate for official use.

  4. Sir, I have passed 10th exam with 60% and 12th exam with 60.5%. I can apply for this exam
