ACC Emerging Teams Cup: Bangladesh U23 beat Singapore, Afghanistan beat Nepal

Singapore, Aug 18 (): In the opening match of ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2013 held on Singapore, Bangladesh U-23 beat Singapore by eight wickets, while Afghanistan beat Nepal by 3 runs.

In the first match, Singapore won the toss and put Bangladesh U23 to field. Singapore scored 121 runs losing all the wickets in 47.1 overs. Bangladesh U-23 team reached the target in just 26.4 overs just losing two wickets. Bangladesh bowler Noor Hossain who took 4 wickets was declared the man of the match for his excellent bowling.

In the match, Nepal won the toss and put Afghanistan to bat first. Afghanistan made 169 for 9 in their 50 overs. Chasing the revised target of 161 runs in 46 overs in the rain-shortened innings Nepal was 157 all out in 45.3 overs. B Regmi of Nepal who took five wickets was declared Man of the Match.

India U23 will meet Pakistan U23 in Aug 18 match while BangladeshU23 will meet Sri Lanka U23.

Singapore: 121 all out in 47.1 overs.

Nepal: 157 all out in 45.3 overs

(Khadka 60, Vesawkar 24, Malla 24: Hamid Hassan 2 for 22, Mohammad Nabi 2 for 30)

Man of the Match: B Regmi ( Nepal)

India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh will feature their U-23 teams while other countries Nepal, Afghanistan, Singapore and UAE will have their national teams participating in the ACC Emerging Teams cup.
