New Delhi, July 9 (): Micromax had launched its new smartphone Canvas 4 by end-June without revealing its price and specifications and today the smartphone has hit the Indian market officially with a price tag of Rs 17,999.
At the launch event, founder members of Micromax Sumeet Arora, Rajesh Agarwal and Rahul Sharma along with model and actress Chitrangada Singh were present.
The company said that 11,500 units of Canvas 4 have been pre-booked in less than a week after it appeared on company’s website on June 28.

Another addition is ‘blow-to-unlock’ technology. Users can unlock the Canvas 4 screen by blowing air on the screen. It has a touch-enabled cover for protection against scratches.
For the security of Canvas 4 buyers, Micromax offers an M! Security feature. They also offer security solutions including anti-theft tracker, back-up and anti-virus.
The phone allows the user to view multiple videos at the same time. The company claims that the screen is sensitive to the eye movements of the user, hence pausing a video when he/she looks away is possible.
The camera also comes with a number of scene modes and a continuous burst mode, among other features. Both the 13 mega pixel autofocus rear camera with Flash and the 5 MP front-facing camera can record videos as well. Connectivity preferences include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and Micro-USB.
