Chennai, July 8 (): Singam 2, the most expected movie of Suriya this year has fetched whopping 24 crores on the first three days in the domestic box office.
In spite of receiving mixed reviews, the Suriya starrer opened to a grand start in theatres. The first day collections of “Singam 2″ (combining TN, Kerala and Karnataka makets) was pegged at 7.25 crore.
Directed by Hari, the Tamil film had a solo big release across key markets in India and overseas. It was released in 2400 screens worldwide breaking the previous records of Suriya’s films.

Trade analyst Trinath said that Singam 2 reportedly made on a budget of Rs 45 crore, collected a total of Rs 7.25 crore on the day of release from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
The action-drama film had a fantastic start in overseas markets as well. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Tamil film #Singam2 has fetched a super start in international markets. Details later!” The response for the film is positive in countries like the US, UK, Malaysia and Singapore. Especially in US, the film cashed in more revenue taking advantage of the Independence Day (4 July) weekend.
After showing a fantastic three-day opening, the first week is now crucial for “Singam 2″. If it continues to go strong at the box office, then the film is likely to emerge as a big winner. The film’s success will bring a good break to Suriya, as the last two films of the actor – “7 aam Arivu” and “Maattran”, did only an average business.
Singam 2 is a sequel to highly successful Singam. Besides Suriya, Singam 2 also features Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Nasser, Mukesh Rishi, Danny Sapani, Rahman, Radha Ravi, Santhanam, Vivek and Anjali.
