Mumbai, June 25 (TruthDive): Shahrukh Khan has decided to give a tribute to South superstar Rajinikanth in his much-awaited film Chennai Express. The movie which has the ingredients of a typical South Indian style film will see SRK doing a special number for Rajinikanth.
SRK called Punjabi rapper Honey Singh and requested him to compose a particular song for the Tamil Superstar. When asked to Rockstar Honey Singh about the special song, he stated that he was surprised to get a call from Shahrukh about the special song. He said Shahrukh wanted him to do that particular song.
When SRK asked for this offer, Honey Singh was in Mauritius. As, Shahrukh bhai had asked him to do the song he could not refuse. Honey Singh wrote and composed the song while he was in Mauritius as he was a huge fan of Rajinikanth. Honey Singh added the number was their tribute to him.
SRK also wished the track to be lively and electrifying as he was an ardent fan of Superstar Rajinikanth.
Chennai Express would be the first action and comedy film for Shahrukh. He portrays a 40-year-old man Rahul leaving Mumbai to immerse the ashes of his late 99-year-old grandfather in Rameshwaram. During his journey, he meets a stunning South Indian girl on the same train. The meeting leads Rahul to face a lot of twists and turns in his life.
‘Chennai Express’ has a lot of Tamil influences in its dialogues. The entire unit had a laugh riot during the shooting of the film since some of the dialogues kept everyone in splits.
SRK stated ‘Chennai Express’ beautifully gives us the message that it is not the language but the bonding, love and affection that make relations.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, Chennai Express also stars Deepika Padukone and the film is slated to release on August 8.
