Puducherry, June 8 (): The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) Puducherry known to be one among the top medical colleges in the country has announced its MBBS entrance exam 2013 results yesterday on June 7, 2013.
A total of 69,391 medical candidates appeared for the JIPMER medical entrance exam this year which was held on 2 June, 2013. Students who appeared for the exam can obtain the rank and mark sheets from the official website – www.jipmer.edu
Kunal Ramesh Chandekar who hails from Andhra Pradesh has scored 174 out of 200 marks and has topped JIPMER 2013. Kunal was followed by Hemnath Amardeep Santhoor from Bangalore and TNC Pranav from Hyderabad bagging the second place with 172 marks each.
JIPMER which offers 141 seats also includes 40 seats reserved for the students of Puducherry. Under each category number of seats available for this academic year are: UR-51, OBC-27, SC-15, ST-8, P-UR-23, P-OBC-11 & P- SC-6.
5 seats are available under self finance scheme for OCI/NRI combined candidates who had appeared for the entrance examination. On horizontal reservation basis, 4 seats are reserved for OPH candidates.
JIPMER MBBS entrance examination was held in all the fourteen centres including New Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Thiruvananthapuram, Chandigarh and Vijayawada.
Valuation of answer sheets is likely to be carried out on June 8th, said Dean of JIPMER Dr K S Reddy.
