New Delhi, June 7 (): Amid strong demand, the BJP is expected to make some key decisions in the party’s National executive in Goa this week, regarding Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to play the vital role leading the next Lok Sabha elections and declaring Modi to play the committee head of the campaign.
Central office-bearers of the party are likely to meet and discuss the agenda for the National Executive meet prior to the two-day meeting, in which some of the BJP members are expected to force party president to announce Modi as the campaign committee head during the gathering.
It is also believed that some senior BJP members are slightly disturbed over the issue and is not willing Modi to be the committee head, therefore chances of turning the conclave into a possible success seems to be dim for the BJP.
BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy while talking to reporters said that BJP president Rajnath Singh has been discussing the matter with the party high command and will give a clear message to the party at the Goa conclave. When asked whether route has been made clear for Modi to declare him as the campaign committee chief, Rudy claimed that the party has not yet come to a decision and further refused to comment on the issue.
While senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha has almost dismissed the chance of Modi being announced as the party campaign head, there is also a rumour that some stubborn Modi supporters who are inflexible are likely to demand that the Gujarat Chief Minister be made the head of the campaign committee during the Goa gathering.
When asked whether the motivation behind the Goa conclave is about deciding on the leadership issue, the party senior leader said that the BJP has already declared that these issues will be decided in the Parliamentary Board.
