New Delhi, May 23 (): Attacking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his continuous failure in leading the country, leaders of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and her Rajya Sabha counterpart Arun Jaitley said that the UPA-II government is celebrating its fourth anniversary in an environment of dimness, distrust and diffuseness.
Targeting the Prime Minister, the BJP on Wednesday said that the existence of two power centres and the PM’s uncertainty, lack of ability and stillness have led to great disaster in the country.
The Prime Minister is neither a leader of the country nor a leader of his own party, said BJP adding that his colleagues though sit beside him in the Cabinet follow only the instruction of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. These two power centres is the biggest failure of the UPA government, said BJP leader Sushma Swaraj.
The government has been unsuccessful in providing a good leadership, maintaining unity among its coalition, enhancing the economical condition of the country, containing corruption or ensuring the safety and security of women in the country, claimed the BJP.
Accusing Mr Singh, the BJP leaders said that the Prime Minister lacks credibility as a good leader and therefore the UPA model is “structurally defective”.
BJP was vague on questions about the clash among its leaders for projecting the Prime Ministerial candidate, though the party dismissed the idea of a “third front “as a messed up idea and said it does not exist. When asked, whom the BJP will project as its PM candidate in the next Lok Sabha elections, Swaraj said, all these issues will be decided later by the BJP Parliamentary Board.
Swaraj however replying to a question did not deny senior party leader L K Advani as a possible PM candidate of the BJP and said that nobody has ever said his name will not be discussed.
